7 things to do in Western New York this weekend: August 16 - August 18

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — We have a list packed with amazing festivals and events for you to taste and see this weekend.

Erie County Fair

Here's your last chance to check out the Erie County Fair. Head on over to the Hamburg Fairgrounds before it's too late. Admission is $12 for adults , $9 for seniors. Children under 12 get into the fair for free. You'll have two opportunities to watch the demolition derby Sunday. You can find a schedule of events here.

Grown Up Night of Play

Who said museums are just for kids? The brand new Explore & More Museum will open its doors to adults Friday night. Enjoy the food and entertainment from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. You can watch the fireworks fill the sky from the rooftop. Admission is $35 per adult. You can find more information here.

Buffalo Bark in the Park 2019

Delaware Park will be filled with mutts and furry friends Saturday. Bring your dog down to Buffalo Bark in the Park. There will be a dog parade, an Instagram photo contest and plenty of giveaways. The first 200 attendees will get a free welcome bag. Bark in the Park goes from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00p.m.

Buffalo Niagara Scottish Festival

This festival is filled with events. We're talking the Highland Athletic Games, massed pipe bands, world class celtic music, local craft beer and more. The Buffalo Niagara Scottish Festival takes place Saturday and Sunday at the Heritage Village in Amherst. You can find a list of events here.

Puerto Rican and Hispanic Day Parade

Hundreds of people will line the streets of Niagara and Porter for the Puerto Rican and Hispanic Day Parade. The parade will start at 1:00 p.m. Saturday in front of city hall. The parade will be followed by live music at LaSalle Park.

Superhero Night at the Ballpark

You don't have to possess super-human strength to attend this event. However, you can dress like one at Superhero Night at the Ballpark. You and the kids could be called upon to save the day at Sahlen Field Saturday. The Bisons will play the Bulls. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. Tickets start at $14. Proceeds will benefit the Superhero Race & Wellness Walk.

Vintage Movie Night Under the Stars

Bring a picnic to this event. Enjoy a classic flik under the stars at the Richardson-Olmsted Campus. Officials will be offering tours of the campus between 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Saturday. Pre-registration is required. The movie, showing acting greats Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin on the big screen is free to attend.
