34-year-old Buffalo man indicted for fatal 2017 hit-and-run

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Erie County District Attorney's Office announced a 34-year-old Buffalo man has been indicted for a fatal hit-and-run crash in July 2017.

34-year-old D’Mario Caesar of Buffalo faces one count of manslaughter in the second degree and one count of leaving the scene of an incident without reporting resulting in death.

Caesar allegedly struck 31-year-old Brandyn Mallory who was crossing Broadway in the City of Buffalo around 3 a.m. on July 16, 2017. After striking him he also allegedly fled the scene without reporting the incident to law enforcement.

Mallory later died at ECMC, the unoccupied vehicle was found a short distance away.

A return court date has not been scheduled, Caesar remains remanded without bail and faces a max of 15 years in prison if convicted on all charges.
