ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WKBW) — A 3-year-old boy has died after falling into a grease trap at a Tim Hortons in Rochester.
According to WHAM, the boy fell into a grease trap at a Tim Hortons location on University Avenue and Culver Road Monday morning.
Officers tell WHAM emergency crews responded to the scene just after 11 a.m.
Police say the child climbed onto the grease trap. Plastic covering the grease trap gave out.
The child fell into the trap and was not able to escape.
The grease trap was located outside the Tim Hortons restaurant.
A captain with the Rochester Police Department called it a "horrifying episode."
