DUNKIRK, N.Y. (WKBW) — The 2020 Chautauqua County Fair has been canceled due to concerns regarding the coronavirus pandemic.
The Chautauqua County Fair Board held a meeting Monday night deciding to unanimously cancel the fair.
"After careful consideration we decided to cancel our fair with the safety of the Chautauqua County community in mind," said Chautauqua County Fair President Dave Wilson.
It's the first time the fair has been canceled since World War II.
The fair would have been held in Dunkirk from July 20th through 26th.
