TOWN OF BARRE, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Orleans County Sheriff's Office is investigating how a 16-month-old child fell into a pool and drowned, Wednesday morning.
Police say the Orleans County 911 Center received a call just before noon that the child had fallen into a pool in the Town of Barre. Sheriff's deputies and first responders from several other agencies responded to the scene and removed the child from the pool. CPR was administered on the scene and the child was taken to a nearby hospital but was not able to be resuscitated.
The incident is still under investigation but police do not believe foul play is involved in the case.
