NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WKBW) — A 12-year-old boy suffered serious injuries after crashing a mini bike, according to Niagara Falls police.

Police say the child was operating a mini bike, traveling east in the 9100 block of Griffon Avenue, when he hit a parked vehicle on the road Saturday around 7 p.m.

The child was taken to Oishei Children’s Hospital and is being treated for serious head injuries and broken bones.

“As per NYS Law and the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles, mini bikes are not allowed on any street, highway, parking lot, sidewalk or other area that allows public motor vehicle traffic,” stated police in a statement.
