Local man gives the gift of ice cream during the heat wave

He goes by 'James the Ice Creamcycle Dude' and he has a simple mission: making kids smile and keeping them cool during the hot Buffalo Summer.

But not every kid he meets has a dollar to afford ice cream. He says he can give out a few free ones every day, but sometimes it's still not enough.

So he's come up with a solution -- and you can help.

He's set up a site where you can donate $5 (or more) to provide free ice cream to local kids across Buffalo. In return, the kids you help will fill out a thank you card, which will be sent to you in the mail.

In a facebook post, James says having the kids fill out the thank you card sets a positive example, teaching a great lesson while the kids get ice cream. And while the person who donates doesn't get to see the smile on the kids' faces, he hopes they'll get a smile of their own when they get the postcard of the kid they help.
