Gas prices in Buffalo took a big jump in the past week, according to AAA.

The average cost of a gallon of gas rose nine cents, to $2.23 a gallon. Prices in nearby Rochester and Syracuse also rose nine cents, and remain just a few pennies cheaper than gas in Buffalo.

The New York state average is $2.27 a gallon, nearly twenty cents below the national average of $2.45.

AAA says pump prices are likely to fluctuate as the supply of summer-blend gas continues to make its way to stations nationwide.

The good news? Gas supplies are rising, and AAA predicts gas prices should stay relatively steady in the coming weeks.
