If you're looking for something fun to do with your family this weekend, check out the 22nd annual Maple Weekend, a sweet Western New York tradition.

According to the U.S. Forest Service, Forest Inventory and Analysis data, New York State, including right here in WNY, has more tappable maple trees than in any other state in America.

Maple Weekend is an opportunity for families to learn all about the production of maple syrup and other related products.

Carl Smith of Smith's Maple Farm in Hamburg has been running his business for 12 years and says, "this is really an opportunity to support local farms and local products."

Maple syrup holds many health benefits, including: the calcium and potassium content and higher antioxidants than store bought or generic brands.

Activities are March 25 & 26, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and for more information visit the Maple Weekend website.
