Western New Yorkers are coming out to remember the victims of the Orlando nightclub massacre.

A candlelight vigil took place in Buffalo Sunday at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Buffalo. People of all faiths and backgrounds were welcome at the corner of Elmwood and West Ferry Street.

A few dozen people showed up for the event.

"I came here in solidarity for the people that were murdered in a hate crime directed at LGBT people," said Joan Montagnes. "I come here in solidarity to address the issue of gun violence that seems to be out of control in this country."

This was just one of many nighttime vigils taking place around the nation.
