After 40 years of vacancy, the 140-year-old Richardson Olmsted Complex is breathing new life, thanks to a generous donation on behalf of Stanford Lipsey and his family.

The former Buffalo News Publisher and his wife Judy gifted $5 million that will go towards a new on-site Architecture Center, known as the Buffalo Architecture Center. This major addition is part of the multi-million dollar renovation project overseen by the Richardson Center Corporation.

A strong advocate for design and civic leadership, Lipsey was a lover of historic architecture, the city of Buffalo and State of New York. In an effort to share his love and passion with the rest of the world, a new hotel, Hotel Henry, will also be part of the redevelopment, to encourage visitors to visit the Queen City.

Hotel Henry is expected to open in April 2017, with the Architecture Center to follow in December 2017.
