The Lexington Cooperative Market continues its progress on its second store and kicks off the final phase of construction by pouring the inside foundation Wednesday.

Before pouring the foundation, the co-op asked its shoppers and staff to write "love notes" and well wishes that will be placed inside the foundation of the store.

"This is truly a grassroots project," said Tim Bartlett, the Co-op's General Manager. "The community funded this new sotre, and now we're thrilled to cement their hopes and dreams into the foundation."

The new store is located at 1678 Hertel Avenue and will include a parking lot and indoor cafe.

Between it's current location on Elmwood and it's new location on Hertel, the co-op is hoping to fill 40 positions over the next few months.
