State lawmakers are asking for more money to make streets safer for bicyclists and pedestrians.

Senator Tim Kennedy along with Assemblyman Sean Ryan and local advocates are asking that when the state budget is voted on next week, it includes direct funding for "complete streets."

"Complete streets are designed to ensure the safety and mobility and convenient access to all roadway users, including children, seniors and people with disabilities," said Senator Kennedy.

Plans to make roadways "complete" would focus on both urban and suburban areas.
