Swim, bike, run; elementary students in Lancaster were out in force to race in the 8th Annual William Street Triathlon.

What made this triathlon stand out from past years was the heat. Temperatures at race time were in the upper 80s. Some parents were worried if it would be too hot for their kids.

“You worry about things like sun stroke, heat stroke just general exhaustion,” said Geoff King. His daughter, Campbell ran the race.

“This is the first year it's been this hot. Year three it was pretty hot but we're well equipped,” said Dave Serotte, a physical education teacher who helps run the triathlon.

The army of volunteers were prepared. Racers were handed water right after the race.
