Lancaster man wins $3 million on New York Lottery scratch-off

A Lancaster man is Erie County's newest millionaire.

Ramiro Chagolla Arreaga, 29, won $3 million when he scratched off the jackpot winning combination on a "$3,000,000 Mayhem" ticket.

The New York Lottery's Yolanda Vega presented Chagolla Arreaga his prize check at the Erie County Fair Sunday.

“I buy Lottery scratch-off tickets for the fun of it,” Chagolla Arreaga said.  “When I realized I had won the jackpot my heart was pumping a lot!”

The winning ticket was purchased in the Food Mart of the Citgo gas station at 5341 Broadway in Lancaster.

He chose to receive a one-time lump sum payment, his net check will be $1,598,884.

Chagolla Arreaga said he plans to invest the bulk of his winnings for the future.
