Travel advisories lifted in some parts of WNY

Lancaster Emergency Services has lifted a "No Unnecessary Travel Advisory" for residents living in the Town of Lancaster.

The Genesee County Sheriff's Office also lifted its travel advisory for the entire county.  

The advisories came into effect Wednesday evening and lasted several hours.

A lake effect snow band moving through Western New York has caused significant traffic trouble, with vehicles spinning out or getting stuck in several inches of snow.  Strong winds have been whipping up the snow, causing whiteout conditions.
