A large band of lake effect snow hit the Southern Tier Friday evening, stretching across much of Cattaraugus County. Winds caused occasional white-outs as the snow piled up on top of existing banks and roads as well.
"It's coming down in sheets over the past hills, just a lot of flurries going on," one driver noted.
"I see it and I cringe but I still fight through it," another added.
