Lackawanna firefighters, who have expressed their concerns over outdated equipment, will be getting new air-pack masks.
At the Lackawanna City Council meeting on Monday, members unanimously approved the purchase of masks and filters for firefighters. Firefighters use the masks to breath clean air while inside burning structures.
The council will still have to figure out if the fire chief has access to a budget line with the appropriate funding of $6,560 for the equipment. They say if he doesn't, they will vote again in order to allow the access to the funding.
