Labatt Blue Pond Hockey Tournament to return to original format, add skills competition

Registration for the 12th annual Labatt Blue Pond Hockey Tournamentis set to begin Saturday November 10th.

For 2019, the tournament which is held at Buffalo RiverWorks, will return to the original one weekend format and will also add a skills competition.

Registration will open Saturday November 10th at 12 p.m. and will be first-come first-served.

The skills competition will be held Thursday, February 14th and the tournament wil run from Friday, February 15th to Sunday, February 17th. 

Organizers expect around 140 teams of four to seven players to participate in the event.

Sabres Alumni appearances, live music, games, food, and of course beer, can be expected at the weekend long event.

“The Labatt Blue Buffalo Pond Hockey tournament has become an iconic Western New York event,” said Michelle McKernan, associate brand manager, Labatt Blue. “We are looking forward to continuing the tradition of celebrating hockey, Buffalo and Labatt Blue with a full weekend of action and entertainment.”

Team captains can sign up for the tournament here.

Captains will sign up for divisions per age designation. Teams will be required to submit their fee at the time of registration. Full team rosters and skills competition sign-up are due at a later date.
