Kissing Bridge welcomes frigid temps & snow

Posted

The frigid cold and recent snowfall across Western New York are the perfect ingredients for the holiday weekend on the slopes.

The cold and snowy weather is what ski resorts like Kissing Bridge officials like to see. Last winters' mild weather forced ski resorts in Western New York to produce much of their own snow. Two years ago Kissing Bridge didn't open until January. This season's record snow is bringing in diehard skiers and snowboarders from as far as Florida and as close as Buffalo.

"People are starting to come out. You know the industry has never been better. This week has been amazing," Michael Bouquard with Kissing Bridge said.

Tom Browne of Hamburg didn't let the frigid temps stop him from trying out his new snowboarding gear at Kissing Bridge.

"I got brand new equipment for Christmas. I had to try it out. Kids bought me new stuff. It's a little cold. But you adapt to it," Browne said.

Depending on the weather Kissing Bridge could be open until March or April.
