The old post-pick phone calls, once a hallmark of the NFL Draft, have been replaced by modern technology. Instead of calling the team's first round draft pick Josh Allen the traditional way, Bills co-owner Kim Pegula spoke to the former University of Wyoming quarterback on a video call.
"Mrs. Pegula, how are you doing," the 21-year-old says as the phone is handed to him. The call happened moments after Allen was selected with the seventh overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, a pick the Bills traded up to acquire from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Pegula tells Allen, "you were my first quarterback visit, so I am so happy. We didn't even need to go on any other visits but I'm happy you are here as a Buffalo Bill."
