Kenmore Police say the department's phone number is being used to make scam calls.
Police say the number (716) 875-1234 was spoofed and is showing up on caller ID.
The police department says it will not call you about unpaid debts or fines. All communications will be by mail and on an official letterhead.
If you receive a call from (716) 875-1234, police say the caller will identify himself as a Kenmore Police officer. If you are unsure, hang up and call back to confirm that the police department did call you.
