The Ken-Ton School District is in the process of upgrading its athletic fields.

Officials marked the beginning of the $52 million Capital Construction Project by breaking ground at Adams Field on Tuesday.

The project is set to upgrade the two athletic facilities in the district, as well as upgrade concessions, restrooms and seating. The auditoriums at each Ken-Ton high school and middle school will also receive enhancements.

Ken-Ton voters approved the project in December 2014.

Construction is expected to last two to three years.
