In Niagara County, some quick thinking police officers rescued two kayakers who were thrown into the icy waters of Mud Creek.
That's off Rapids Road in Lockport.
Police say the two men struck a large piece of ice causing the kayak to capsize.
State police and sheriff's deputies arrived in minutes, using a crow bar on the end of a rope to pull the men out of the water.
Police say neither was wearing a life jacket.
The two men were taken to the hospital and are expected to be okay.
