The Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL) have announced the signing of former NFL first-round pick Johnny Manziel to a two-year contract.

The announcement was made via their social media accounts.

Manziel won the Heisman Trophy, the highest individual honor in college football, in 2012 while attending Texas A&M University. He was the first freshman to ever receive the award.

He was drafted 22nd overall in the 2014 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns but was released after just two seasons due to off-field issues and hasn't played professionally since his release.

If you're looking to see Manziel in action, Hamilton is about an hour drive from Buffalo, the Tiger-Cats first home game of the season is June 29 against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
