Buffalo's first family of entertainment is mourning the loss of one of their own.
Joey Scinta, of the singing Scinta family, died on Friday after previously suffering a series of strokes.
"He has been an incredible friend, father and the love of my life. I didn't just marry this talented loving man but an entire talented loving family. I want to thank everyone for their prayers and love. You've brought as much comfort to my family as Joe brought laughter and joy to all those who were fortunate enough to encounter him," Joey's widow Mary wrote in a statement.
On Facebook, Joey's brother and fellow stage performer Frankie wrote "I will be on stage tonight honoring my brother Joe. We have always discussed if something happens to one of us we would get on stage and do what we do best. Joey I love you. Tell dad I said hi."
The Scinta family performs regularly in Las Vegas and are well-known here in Western New York and nationally as well.
They also perform at the Variety Club telethon each year to benefit Children's Hospital.
A GoFundMe page has been setup to help with Scinta's medical expenses.
