A Limestone man is facing child pornography charges in connection with a disturbing plot involving incest, online personas and threats of violence by organized crime.
Kevin James Fox, 60, is charged with production and receipt of child pornography. Prosecutors say Fox created multiple online personas beginning in April of this year, then used publicly available apps to obtain non-assigned phone numbers.
Investigators say Fox used the numbers to text message a female acquaintance, never disclosing his true identity. The messages indicated she was in physical danger from organized crime and could only get out of this danger by having explicit sexual contact with a teenage member of her family. The messages ordered her to take pictures of the sexual activity.
Prosecutors say the woman had contact with her family member on June 10 and 21, and sent images and videos by text messages to phone numbers controlled by the defendant.
Fox remains in custody and faces a detention hearing on July 6. He faces up to 50 years in federal prison if convicted.
