Icy roads and speed are being blamed for an afternoon wreck outside the Village of Alexander in Genesee County, Monday.
Deputies say 53-year-old Lorna Johnson was heading south on Route 98 when her car slid off the road and slammed into a tree.
The Attica woman was extricated from her vehicle and treated on scene before being airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
She is currently listed in critical condition.
