Buffalo's refugee community learned first hand about the City of Good Neighbors on Saturday.
Reverend Eric Johns of the Buffalo Dream Center handed out "Boxes of Love" to hundreds of families on the city's west side for the holiday season.
You could see the smiles on the kids' faces as they received bags of food and toys Saturday.
"We're helping about 300 families for Christmas and the neat thing about this site is that we have families from all over the world, many of them new to Buffalo. Some have only been in Buffalo for a month, a week, and we're able to just help them today and share some love with them," said Michelle Johns of the Buffalo Dream Center.
Pastor Johns sleeps on the streets with the homeless on the week of Thanksgiving to get donations for the Boxes of Love program.
The gift giving continues this week.
