Hundreds of residents in the Kaisertown neighborhood in South Buffalo were without power due on Wednesday to an underground cable fault, according to a National Grid spokesperson. The power was fully restored as of 10:45 pm.

The outage, impacting around 900 customers, was reported in the late morning hours on Wednesday and was initially expected to be restored by 11 p.m.

National Grid has set up a warming station for affected customers at the Winchester Elementary School at 650 Harlem Road in West Seneca.

According to National Grid, there is no specific cause of the outage and crews worked to string temporary overhead lines to restore service, while the work of replacing the underground cable took place.
