There's a nationwide shortage of pet blood donations, especially during this weather. Warmer weather means an increase of infectious disease and traumas related to playing outside that could require blood transfusions.

Many veterinarians only have enough canine and feline donations in their banks to supply their own offices, instead of being able to share where the need is greater.
