The folks at Holiday Valley certainly know what they're thankful for this Thanksgiving - snow!
The Ellicottville ski resort will open for the season this Saturday, almost a month earlier than last year.
Greeting skiers and snowboarders will be three slopes - Yodeler, Mardi Gras and School Haus - and four runs - Yodeler, Mardi Gras, School Haus and the Candy Cane Loop.
Three lifts will be operating from 8:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. weather permitting.
Holiday Valley didn't open until December 20th last year, but this past weekend's freezing temperatures and blast of lake effect snow were just what the doctor ordered for the lucrative holiday weekend.
