Historic submarine comes to Buffalo

The U-S-S Buffalo is coming to the Queen City.

The decommissioned submarine launched in 1982 and set sail for the final time in 2017.

Now the sub is coming back, in parts, to its namesake city. The Control panel will soon be officially on display at the Canal Side Naval Park.

Alexander Boccolucci is from West Seneca and was an Electricians Mate aboard the Buffalo.

"It's an honorable moment to bring something back, something I've worked so hard on, to bring back to our city to celebrate, to show, our commitment to the city," Boccolucci said.

The U.S.S. Buffalo even adorned a bit of Bills gear while it was still active.

"I actually got to fly my Bills flag on the sail of the Buffalo. I tried to convert some people to be Bills fans," Boccolucci said.
