Michele Tingue owns Michele’s Café in South Buffalo. She opened it nearly three years ago after beating stage three colon cancer.
“After you go through that, nothing matters. You just give it your best shot. you roll the dice and here I am,” the 55-year-old explained. “I had nothing. And, I mean nothing. I figured after you go through cancer and survive you can get through anything.”
Prior to her diagnosis, Tingue was a nurse. She said cancer made her realize she wanted to pursue her true passion.
The menu consists of breakfast and lunch favorites. You’ll basically find your traditional diner fare. “I love to bake. I wish I could spend the entire day baking, but I can't.”
