The team at Aleron(formerly Superior Group) in Williamsville has two main objectives. “We want to get them to collect a paycheck and build a career,” said the company talent development manager, Carl Camardo.
Camardo's tasked with finding qualified workers for job openings across western New York. So, you could say he knows the pulse of the local job market. “It's a candidate driven market so it's tough to find qualified candidates.” This summer, I.T., engineering, and skilled manufacturing openings are considered hot hiring areas. “We've seen a bump in those industries, Camardo said. Customer service--like you might find at a call center-- is also seeing a spike in openings. “It's important. It takes a skill to talk to people, to help them out and to be happy about it,” he added.
Seasonal and temporary positions are typically at a premium during the summer months, and Camardo said they're also something worth considering. “It's almost try it before you buy it. And then when the need is still there, perhaps they'll put you on their payroll.”
