HAMBURG, N.Y. (WKBW) - There's isn't much Dave Hochadel doesn't know about building a fire truck. “We'll have a few hundred hours into each truck, easy,” he said.
Hochadel works for E-ONE. The Hamburg based plant builds custom stainless-steel fire trucks for fire departments across the country. Employees are responsible for every aspect of assembling a fire truck from start to finish. “It's a neat job. Nothing too strenuous,” said Hochadel.
E-ONE has grown since it opened in 2010. “We started with 10 employees,” said Operations Manager, Steve Savage. Today, it employs about 100. Savage said the plant's looking to hire 10 employees. “We're looking for machine operators, welders, engineers, assemblers, mechanics, so really everything that goes into putting together an entire fire truck,” he said.
E-ONE's hosting a job fair June 7th at the Camp Road plant. It will offer on the spot interviews. Anyone's encouraged to apply.
