BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - You can help recovery efforts in Puerto Rico Monday by donating to a telethon which will be held on 7 ABC. We're teaming up with the Hispanic Heritage Council of Western New York and M&T Bank to raise money for our neighbors there.
On Monday you can call in between 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m, and donate money which will be sent to Hurricane Maria recovery efforts. The telethon comes as Western New Yorkers continue to send help to Puerto Rico. Volunteers gathered about $300,000 worth of medical supplies to send to the island. The truck with the donations was at the Connecticut Street Armory in Buffalo Thursday. Those donation efforts were led by Dunkirk Mayor Wilfred Rosas, whose mother is still in Puerto Rico.
