Helping businesses off the ground to create jobs; Buffalo startup weekend around the corner

Techstars a small business accelerator company is bringing their expertise to Buffalo.

The 8th annual startup weekend will take place at University at Buffalo Friday, September 14 - 16, 2018.

The weekend asks participants to come with an idea. They'll pitch to the crowd, which will vote on which idea it likes best.

"The startup community is better than it’s ever been in Buffalo. There are small businesses blooming, being funded, there’s venture capital available...," said Michael Spence. He was a former participant in Buffalo Startup Weekend, and enjoyed it so much that he came back to help organize this year. 

The organizers are still looking for groups to sign up to pitch in the weekend, the only requirement is that you haven't started to work on the business before the weekend.
