7 Eyewitness News is happy to report that our team was able to help secure a small bit of relief for a local woman who recently suffered an unbelievable loss.

Aidan Campbell and her boyfriend Shane booked a trip to Iceland in November using Expedia for the airfare.

Tragically, Aiden's boyfriend passed away unexpectedly in March.

Since then, Aiden has been trying to get a refund for the $900 flight.  She has documentation showing the airline, Iceland Air, approved the refund, but she says Expedia denied her 16 times, claiming the airline would not refund the flight.

"It's like trying to get a humanistic response and a moral response from a company the keeps pushing it down the line to a different sales person or customer service rep," said Aidan during a Facetime interview on Tuesday.

7 Eyewitness News worked with Expedia for several hours on Tuesday. Both parties ((Expedia and Iceland Air)) were able to work things out, and Aidan will be getting her refund in the coming weeks.

We'll of course check back with her to make sure the refund was received.
