February break was more of a time for families to try out the pool at Holiday Valley than the slopes.
The first days of March set a much better tone for the final full month of the ski season. 18 inches of snow, one of the best snowfalls of the season, brought one of the biggest crowds of 2018.
Among the crowd was 40 members of Buckeye High School's ski club. The club made the four-hour journey, nervous about the trip when two days before the members could have been wearing tee shirts.
Holiday Valley says March has been known to bring some of the best storms of the year, and all the white the March 2nd storm brought to the hills was a welcome sight.
