Buffalo firefighters are working a house fire in South Buffalo, on Allegany Street, between Tifft and Folger.
Crews were called to the scene around 3:40 Wednesday morning.
When firefighters arrived, there was heavy smoke and fire coming from the home. They were initially fighting this fire defensively, meaning they did not go inside to get it under control and fought it from the outside.
Firefighters say there was no one living inside this house.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
