Two local health insurers say their computers were targeted in a cyberattack that may have provided unauthorized access to the person records of more than 10 million people.

Excellus BlueCross BlueShield and Lifetime Healthcare Companies say unauthorized computer access was discovered last month.

Neither company has determined yet what information was taken.

They say it could include names, birth dates, Social Security numbers, mailing addresses, phone numbers, member identification numbers, financial account information and claims information.

Univera Healthcare, a Lifetime Healthcare affiliate, is offering assistance to anyone who may have been affected.
