Driver charged in deadly head-on crash in Lancaster Sunday night

A deadly accident shut down a section of Transit Road in Lancaster Sunday night.

Lancaster Police say 77-year-old Paul Kloc, owner of Paul A. Kloc Blossom Chapels Inc. in West Seneca, was killed Sunday night when his vehicle went head-on with another vehicle.

According to police the crash occurred around 9:15 p.m. at Transit Road and Michael Anthony Lane.

Kloc was transferred to St. Joseph Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Kloc's wife, Elaine, was also injured an remains at ECMC, there is no update on her condition at this time.

The driver of the striking vehicle has been identified as 49-year-old Richard Carpenteri, of West Seneca.

Police say Carpenteri was arrested and taken to ECMC, where a court order for a blood draw from him was authorized by a judge.

Carpenteri has been charged with DWI.

Police are still investigating the crash.
