A parking lot on the corner of Pearl Street and Washington Street in Buffalo was shut down on Wednesday after a suspicious package was found in a vehicle at approximately 11:42 according to the Buffalo Fire Department.
The package had an "unknown chemical" inside at the time that was later deemed "safe to the public".
Police learned of the suspicious package after receiving a tip. The caller told police they saw a person leave a package in the parking lot and then drive away.
The suspect who dropped the package off is still unknown as the incident is still under investigation.
No one was injured during the incident and the area has been cleared.
