If you had to escape a house fire how would you get out? Do you have a plan?

According to the U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) 4,000 Americans die each year in fires. USFA statistics say that having a working smoke alarm can more than double your chances of surviving a fire.

These escape plan tips could also help save your life.

  • Have two ways out of each room
  • Know to crawl low to the floor when escaping to avoid toxic smoke
  • Know that once you're out, stay out

For a full list of helpful tips, visit the USFA website.
