People are being encouraged to keep out of Hoyt Lake after harmful algae bloom was confirmed.
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) sent a notice to local officials, informing them of the presence of algae.
Signage is up in and around the lake, located at Delaware Park, to alert park users that recreational water activities have been suspended until further notice.
That includes no swimming, no boating, no fishing and no pets in the water.
The City of Buffalo will continue to work closely with the DEC and State and County health officials.
