It's said that when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade.

For these seven-year-old Hamburg twins, they are doing more than just making lemonade.

"We're doing a lemonade stand and a carnival at the same time," Evelyn Zangerle said.

That's to raise money for both the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter and Silver Lining for Pit Bulls Rescue, Inc.

"This is our second year."  The Lake View twins only sold lemonade last year alongside their mom, Jennifer.  She literally wears her love for animals on her sleeve with tattoos.

The Zangerle family has four dogs, three fish and a cat--all of course adopted.  Some came through the very organizations they fundraised for.

Last year, they raised around $200.  This year they decided to take fundraising to the next level.

"As soon as they hear bounce house and face painting, it's all systems go," Jennifer joked.

Before the event even started, they surpassed last year's gold through early donations.  Tickets were sold for the handmade carnival games, 20 raffle baskets and bounce house.

"The community has been overwhelming with their support.  Every basket here is donated," she added.

Almost the entire block came out to support the Zangerle family and their mission to stop animal cruelty.

"We would love to keep going with this.  To have some fun, to promote and just to get everybody together for a summer party."
