A desire for protection in the wake of mass shootings happening around the country and the world, is what one local gun store says is prompting sales and attendance in firearm safety classes.
"A lot of people are wanting to protect themselves and they're seeing that as these incidents are happening more and more it's starting to become a reality," said store manager, Mike Deasy.
Gun sales at Niagara Gun Range have increased by 25 percent since this time last year and the safety classes have more than doubled.
