A Buffalo man will be spending five years in prison and serving five years parole on a gun charge after leading police on a chase.
In August, 30-year-old Jason Bishop of 168 Wakefield Avenue pleaded guilty to Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree.
On November 27, 2016, Bishop was engaged in a domestic dispute with his girlfriend on Townsend Street in the City of Buffalo. While Bishop was arguing with his girlfriend in the middle of the street, he pulled out a pistol and shot it into the air. Police responded to a 911 call for “shots fired” and found Bishop fleeing the scene in a silver sedan. Bishop then led police on a high speed chase until he crashed his car and ran away on foot, leaving the weapon in the center console of the car. Police chased Bishop down and arrested him without incident.
