A local group is offering rides to medical professionals who may need a ride to work when the snow starts to fly.
WNY Jeep Recovery Group posted on Facebook that they are willing to give any doctor, nurse, or other medical professional a ride – free of charge – if they cannot get to work.
During the winter storm on Tuesday February 16. 2016, 7 Eyewitness News rode along with one of the volunteers who went out in the bad conditions to help others stuck in snow.
The post says, “This is a not-for-profit group. There will be no charge to you or anyone. Just good people trying to help out others!”
Reporter Ed Reilly talked with some members of the group who said the idea started during the Snowvember Storm in 2014. Afterwards, they decided to offer the volunteer service during any snow storm.
The Jeep Wrangler Club of Western New York has 1,400 members and many have equipped their vehicles with winches, tow ropes and emergency first aid supplies.
